7-inch Hellboy statue

Description
This is my 7-inch Hellboy statue. When I got DC's Batman Black and White statue, I just needed to have similar Hellboy to stand next to it. As there wasn't one available, I made it myself...
Original is made from Cernit polymer clay, this is first resin copy. I will post painted pictures when I have one. Thanks for looking!

Do they sell Cernit at like, Hobby Lobby? I don't really know my clay. and is resin just a coat of something that you put on the clay so you can paint it?

Hobby Lobby - I'm not in America, so I don't know...
Original is made of Cernit (I think Super Sculpey would be easier polymer clay to use), copies are made from resin with silicone moulds.
It is fully possible to paint polymer clay originals with acrylic paints. It's just that with moulding it is possible to make several copies and to try different colors.

thank you!! That is really really helpful. Do you need to put anything on the clay before you pain it, or can you just paint it right there?

I don't think there's a need to prime it, acrylics stick to the polymer clay just fine. Maybe just wash it with soap before painting, if it may be oily from handling or something.

I love how you stuck to Mignola style, too many artist he's hiring are changing hellboy even the original comic series... sigh.

Amazing!!! Great job! Hellboy has been my favorite comic hero since the 90s when Mignola first started putting the first books out. My fan devotion has extended to a tattoo that sleeves my leg from the knee down (all artwork is from The Art of Hellboy book). Anyway your sculpture is very well done! I Love it! Can't wait to see it painted!
