Super short set up page. It’s a bit contrived but yeah. The dialogue feels clunky here but I have written and re-written this far too many times and now I’ve written myself into a corner. These next two pages won’t be elegant but they’ll get the story moving along a little faster.
On a side note, Undyne probably would have been able to break through the bars eventually on her own power but it would have taken a while longer. I figure there are perks to being a boss monster and I'm hoping that I already established that Toriel is no slouch when it comes to strength back on page 15. Add the panic and mama mode "my child is in danger" power, right now Toriel is not someone you want to mess with.

Hah! Undyne may have sheer perseverance, But Toriel is packing the guns! Were just lucky frisk doesn't have that kind of strength, otherwise this escape plan would involve a demon shaped hole in the rock at the back of the cell. XD
*Edit* Just noticed Toriel broke an metal bar one handed, then proceeded to bend it... what kind of metal is it made of?

Erm, I'm not really sure. I'd have said iron because I had it snap but I've shown it bend quite a bit so probably some low quality steel.

That leaves me in greater awe of goat mom. Knowing that whilst a steel with reasonable impurities would indeed be both susceptible to shattering and maintaining a high degree of malleability, the instantaneous force required to create a fault line in even the lowest grade steels would be strong enough to stop a oncoming truck in its tracks (mother of the year material there ^_^). With roughly 40,000- 20,000 KG tensile strength in just one hand, I can definitely see why humans found monsters to be so formidable a threat despite their inherent deficiencies in morphic resonance control.
