OK, so this just took the past several hours. It started off as playing. I just downloaded some super great Photoshop brushes from obsideandawn.com . The background was made in Photoshop using her space and planet brushes and standard Photoshop 7 functions.The whole idea was taken from a painting I had as a small child, I loved it, but it was painted on very very thin foil, and so, it obviously didn't hold up under a small childs love very well. I tried as hard as possible to make this unicorn look just like the one in what now is little more than shreds of foil poorly taped together. The unicorn is made mostly with Eye Candy 4000 effects and lots of airbrushing and blending.

I recognized this straight away because I have this foil picture! I... don't remember where it is right now... but somewhere where it is remaining flat. lol.

oooh, that unicorn is so delicate looking, and I love how his/her feet are black and how you really have to search for them on the dark background. I have a similar picture to the one you described, except I found it in a thrift shop a few years ago, and it's stayed in reltively good condition ^^ the only thing different between my picture and this one though, is that the background is more blue and the unicorn is facing right instead of left.

Really? Do you know the artist? I've wanted to find out who did the one I had as a child. Since I can remember, most of the bottom of the piece was ripped away. I've never been able to find it.

well, I just took a photo of it -->[link] and upon a close examination, I found a monogram C A J....I doubt that'd be very helpful, but at least that's one step in the right direction. but also upon further examination, I have found out that my unicorn also faces left and not right as I described in my previous comment (it fell off my wall a few years ago and there it has remained behind my desk until just this afternoon
