Description Two Harbors MN, 2086. Designed to hover over water rather than float in it, this ship hovers about 100 meters over the surface of the water, rendering it impervious to Lake Superior's vicious storms. Intended to haul iron ore, its heavy duty construction would also make a great mobile base for a villain. Boss fight anyone?

There's something wild and mystical about that area. The scenery is beautiful but the lake and the cold will kill you if you disrespect them. It's the stuff of Norse sagas.

Hey,

Wow, that's one of the most convincing industrial science-fiction designs I've ever seen! You don't find that very often.

Congratulations for a great work of art and well deserved DD.

CU & greetings

Your airship have a great design! Iยดm sure that someday,anti-gravity airships like this will replace the giant cargo-ships that we have on the current days.

I. LOVE. IT. It's not every day you see art like this with a mysterious individual in the foreground. And I'll bet it would make one awesome boss fight. If only my best boss fights could be shown on youtube (I was unable to record them and still cannot do so until I get a laptop and some other stuff). They were the best fun I ever had in a video game. Same goes for some fights I had with my best friend in a Naruto game a while back. Anyway, love the picture, I would love to see this ship from other angles, such as where the boss fight would take place (and who the boss would be and why he would be the boss too ) and what various rooms look like in this ship, as well as what it looks like in action.

Amazing art and world-building! Though I'm curious as to whether or not Split Rock Lighthouse is still around as a reminder of when ships sailed in the water.

How does that make it immune to storms which are atmospheric in origin? Winds, rains, lightning?

The lighting on this piece has been brilliantly done If we where to see flying ships now a days, I'd say this was a photograph from how well it's composed

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

TeamGirl-Differel [2012-11-11 18:56:58 +0000 UTC]

Actually, it may not get hit by waves, but it would still have to contend with gale or hurricane-force winds, as well as lightning strikes and/or hail damage.

A submarine would be better. 100, 150 feet below the surface, the water is unaffected by even the worst storm. A ship would have very smooth sailing underwater.
