I just read more of the comments, and I'm really at a loss for words. It means a lot to me that this piece has really affected people. Thank you very much.
This guy was sculpted in clay, then a mold was made from ultracal 30, and it was cast in latex and painted with special paints for masks (that won't crack on the latex).
I've been sculpting since I was a kid, actually. Always had a lump of clay in my hands.
By the way, this guy was done way before the first "Saw" movie!
I'm very influenced by Punch and Judy puppets (they're damn scary) and any jester or clown that has something to hide (which is all of them, since they disguise thier true nature by wearing masks or makeup). That is why they frighten me.
I'm glad that this concept came through, and that it has had an impact.
