You have very energetic horses. What, are you sitting around whipping their butts to make them jump like this?
I really do like this picture. I can imagine that this picture was spur-of-the-moment so you couldn't have planned on taking this picture. You couldn't have known he was going to do this. So as much as I would have liked to see his face, it wasn't under your control.
Great job with the photography though. Nicely focused.

This has a lot of potential!
I think if you had a "nicer" camera this shot would have been fantastic! What i see here is a lack of clarity, most likely due to the camera.
This has a lot of potential of being a great stock photo!

I do have a relatively nice camera - I think I just need a better lens so I won't lose clarity in the photoshop-ing! I had to crop this down a fair bit, which is probably where things are going wrong...
Not aiming for stock, so I probably need a change of style! But thank you very much for your comment

What kind of camera do u have and what lens were u using? Do you have the image before u photoshopped it?

It's a Canon EOS 450D, and I'm not sure about the lens... it's the one it came with (saving up for a new one!) - think it's 18-55 :/

ok, i would make sure you have it set on the appropriate aperture/shutter speed for the particuler shot ( if you are unfamiliar w/ these settings, the sport setting is the next best option) I would recommend purchasing a 55-200mm lens if you plan on pursuing photography

I tend to use the sport setting for things like this, as I don't trust myself enough not to miss a moment through crappy settings
