Edo Phoenix (Aster) and his Father from Yugioh GX.As the title says, this pic is for Father's Day (Sunday June 15th).

Awwww... little Edo drew his sweet Papa a picture! ^.^ And Papa is so proud to have such a wonderful son.
Edo's Father was his first and greatest love. Greater than dueling, greater than all the fame in the world... even greater than his dear Saiou (Sartorius)!
His Father was his world. Edo had 5 wonderful years with an incredibly loving, kind and sensitive man, who was both a Father and a "Mother" to him. The murder of his Father devastated Edo, and that loss of his dearest Love became the driving influence in the boy's life. You'd think that with the guy being this important to Edo's life, the writer's could have at least given him a name!? ;__; They really didn't do enough with either of Edo's fathers on the show. Sadness. -_-
I just adore Edo's father.

). What would you guys name this young, handsome single father? As if you couldn't guess by now, I love drawing Edo as a child. I don't know why I'm not very interested in him at age 15 and 16. He just has so much more appeal as a "little" little boy. XD

She might be either dead or left Aster when he was young and he doesn't either remember her or he hates her so much he never mentions her and considers her dead.

I saw the seto kaiba-esque hairstyle in the thumbnail, and was like.."..wait, what??" I don't really watch yugioh GX, but this pic is just plain sweet :3 it evokes such tender emotion~!

I didn't comment on your other father's day picture, but I did want to comment on one of them. I love these pictures so much. Largely because they're wonderful and of wonderful characters, of course, but also because. . .well, to be perfectly frank because I have Daddy Issues. I think this is part of why I feel such a strong tie and fondness for Ed long after those I usually seem to agree with character-wise have disregarded him.
Anyway, I don't know what that was all about, but these are both fantastic, utterly sweet pictures. It's true that this family needs more love; it's a good thing they've got you here to deliver. Cheers.

Edo(Aster) was 15 when he came to Duel Academy in Season 2. Not 17. He was younger than the First Season characters, who were 16 and up at the time of Season 2, because Edo was a child prodigy. D.D.(The D) always talks about killing Edo's Papa and adopting Edo happening 10 years prior. And on D.D.'s line art from when he adopted Edo, that would be D.D. in his Clark Kent type appearance, the description is D.D. from 10 years ago.

Simple math: Aster is 15 when he comes to Duel Academy. D.D constantly says it was 10 years ago that he killed Aster's dad and got The Light. So:
15 - 10 = 5
He was 5 when his dad got killed.
Also, what does your friend's opinion of Aster have to do with how old Aster is or how credible your friend's statement is?
And it's fine to like Jesse, but keep that barnyard reject Pokemon Trainer away from Aster. Sartorius is the only person he'd ever allow love him. Crack is bad, children. Crack is very, very bad.

...Wow, you just admitted that you've never (seen or) paid attention to the last eight episodes of season two.
Quoting the dubbed Episode 97, The Dark Light: "Suck it up, this may be your last duel. After ten long years, your assignment is nearly complete. So feel nothing, your guilt, your pain, soon it will all be over." And then he smashes the table, picks up Plasma, and laughs deviously. "It's time to finish what I started ten years ago."
People who pair Aster with Jesse never pay attention to details, so sad that AsterXJesse fangirls have to ignore important details in order to keep that delusional pairing somehow functioning in their crazy heads. *sigh*

Hooray for pictures that radiate cuteness in loud volumes.
Younger Edo does look really fun to draw, especially for the pink shirt. It's a very good shirt. Though on this picture in particular I prefer the tone of Edo's father's shirt, because it's so bold and jazzy. Not to mention it's good to see a picture of a character crying out of happiness for a change, very heart warming. =3 The glasses in his pocket make this for me, for some reason. ^^
As for the name Blake or Andrew both seem to fit for me, he looks like one of them. Not original enough to come up with a name for him myself.
