I started this faerie drawing a while ago, but it took me a long time to color it. I kept procrastinating. The wings came out really nice - I love their transparency. It's pictures like these that make you love the possiblities Photoshop layers give you. This was first drawn on white sketchbook paper with pencil, inked, and the coloring was done in Photoshop. It was completed in March of 2003.Prints, puzzles, and magnets of this illustration are now available!

I'm glad you like the level of detail. I wasn't going for a particularly Amy Brown look, but I guess it does kind of come across looking somewhat like her stuff. Though, these days, it's hard to draw a fairy without someone somewhere saying it looks like Amy Brown's stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love her art - it just shows what an influence she's had on fairy art in general.
