Just a lovely little picture that made for me and my friends.
It was inspired from a level (imgur.com/a/bkyRs )in the recent Shantae Half-Genie Hero game, where a bunch of villinaious monsters decide to make some counterfeit mermaids for some truly sinister purposes on an industrial scale! Fortunately, Sequin Land seems to have an abundance of scantily clad young maidens ready to be snatched up and processed into future canned monster chow. Even if they're only visiting! They've been left hanging on this hanging conveyor system, and had their bratty objections to their very fishy peril muffled with a good amount of tape!
On the left, we have 's C.J. She was probably out for a swim, and now she's at the back of the line, watching the whole thing unfold with wide eyes. The little chocolaty sneak thief shouldn't have been so confident that she wouldn't be stolen away just cause it was her vacation!
's Amelie, in her full pirate regalia, is Putting up a valiant fight, as her new fish tail (an actual fish!) trys to slip her leggy lower body down his gullet, but she seems to be losing. Soon the little pirate lasses booty will be all gulped up!
Maybe she should have stayed in Beistad as a catgirl <=3 www.trifecta3.net/semla/comic/… And on the end, my own Cvet Helconia (jackmackhack.deviantart.com/ar… ) is at the tail end of the process so to speak. Despite her desperate (and on going) resistance, she's been fitted nicely into her new mermaid tail. And all she's left with is kinda a flabbergasted (and slightly grossed out) "what?" reaction to this entire affair! Cheer up Cvet! At least we know that Ginger Mermaids are really popular!

I love how it looks like you're being converted into real mermaids in this one. You've got the before during and after all in one. All the previous guy sets in the barn Auction Block I can sort of see it as lonely mermen bidding on future wives and we see each girl with a menu above them showing things about them that make them compatible with their future husbands. I'm looking at the bright side of it.

I wish there were more pics like this! I'd like to see something with this plus aftermath- what happens after being turned into mermaids.... perhaps more bindings, being sold on auction, being confined to an aquarium or something... anything! I like seeing perils and what happens afterwards! I really like this idea! It's new to me!

Oh I love this, this kind of mermaid transformation is sweet, I think Cvet as a mermaid actually suits her.

Well kinda the joke here is that it's most definatley NOT a permanent transformation

Still a pretty funny peril/setup, and a bit visceral and cute for the girls to be so grossed up to be turned into fake mermaids by having fish stuck up on em up to their butts and hips

Just remembered something, I was actually going to write a fan fiction of Shantae being tied up for the Mermaid Factory and she can't get the tail off as it's actually completely stuck to her while Tuki the Snake pops out of her pot nearby to mock her.
Going off topic, I'm trying to write my own original story with a raccoon hero with a jet pack and it's set in a world of anthro characters. But I'm not sure if I should include Mermaids? I'm not sure if they are too much of a fantasy thing as they might not make sense, plus there are no Human's on this world.

As for your second question. I'd say even if you had a modern/scifi setting, it'd be fairly easy to justify having mermaids as just being a secondary type of species if you had a lot of different anthro characters. Even with human upper bodies, It wouldn't see that odd given how diverse the anthro species could be I figure.

Well something different than a standard anthro character (a humanoid with animal characteristics). As opposed to winged characters or mermaids.

Well mermaids traditionally have a Human-like upper body, if they were to be in my fictional universe then that would mean they would have been the result of a evolutionary split off from Humans to explain why they look like Humans on top. But the question is how did mermaids come to be? It certainly wouldn't be from thousands of Humans mating with Fish.
Obviously the traditional Anthro make sense as something special evolved them. A fish of course would just become an Anthro fish like this beauty, www.furaffinity.net/view/16319…
However hybrid races I've not thought about, story-wise my main raccoon character has a girlfriend who is a snake which would mean they are having an interspecies love relationship.

Well, to butt in, as far as mermaids go, I don't see how they'd classify as any more unrealistic. Sounds like you have a wild and imaginative setting, so they should fit right in
As for the anthro/human thing, you could make their upper halves more distinctly fish-like like Shantae's mermaids.

Oh yeah, the Shantae's mermaids look like a mix of the traditional mermaid but with a fish-like upper half such as having fish ears and the body skin matching the colour of the tail.
