Ah, yes. When I read about the storied Rebel Yell, in a textbook, I was super curious as to what it sounded like. Years later, I decided to do some Internet research and I came-across the video you linked me to as well as a few others. Damn, that would've been scary to be on the receiving end of.
Incidentally, in a state of shortness of breath, I had previously emitted a high-pitched yell, while exhaling, in order to empty my lungs of used air, making room for another breath. It's amazing how much it helps. I was surprised to find how similar my breathing technique was to historical battle cries.
And thank you! ^^

Those balls are whizzing by. This is quite a unique effect and I've not seen it ever done before. Bravo.

Thank you, sir. I didn't realize how unique it was. I feel special now. I was actually thinking about what it'd look like on a high-speed camera. Like you, I've aspirations in the animation world.
Thank you for your supportive words.

No problammo. The image has a surreal slow motion feel in the midst of the chaos and violence.

That's actually sort of what I was going for. Johnny's in a battle-trance and giving the ol' "Rebel Yell" as he rushes on the foe with a couple of weapons he picked up in the fray.

My pleasure~
Admittedly I would like to be able to own a walker colt at some point... a good self-sufficient alternative to the S&W 500 given that lead balls can be homecast.
Oh wait I live in NY

You know, that's funny; the same word (anachronism) was used to describe me once. "An anachronism for my generation." It was by someone else, a respected elder, and the contemporary culture of my generation isn't something to flout, so I was rather flattered.
What's scary is that the same kind of thing has happened before in places like Russia, China, and Germany

It's good to know there are others like one's self. Takes the edge off the occasional, yet sadly re-occurring blights of lonliness that come from living in a world such as this one.
It has been my great fortune to have two gun toting parents that believe in the prudence of preparing for calamity. It makes me very sad that there are restrictions that make it so hard for you to exercise your 2nd Amendment Rights. I wish you luck, my friend. Stay strong.

Colt single action Army. .44 caliber. Must have "Liberated" it from a Yankee Officer!

Wait, do you mean that you have a Colt single action or that you have one eye?

Yes.
Actually I have a Colt Single Action Army. Fortunately, the good eye is the one I shoot with.

Ohhh. I understand now.
I have a lazy/ impaired eye, myself. The other eye dominates it. I recently had to switch shooting hands to the side of my dominant eye.

"Yee-haw" is more like what cowboys say to get the herd of cattle moving. It's also used as an exclamation of excitement, though.

Not all of them. Cowboys are what we call the hands who work on cattle ranches. Also if someone (particularly an American, especially if they're from a Southwestern State like Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, or Arizona) is exceptionally tough and honest, they might also be referred to as a "cowboy" since those are the traits that are attributed to cowboys. But the term Cowboy should really just be used for American ranch hands. (Also, just for fun, the Mexican ranch hands are referred to as Vaqueros and the South American ones are called Gauchos.)
But as for the legendary Rebel yell, there are only a few known authentic samples of it (both by really old men who actually served in the war).
Here's some video/ audio clips:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6jSqt…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Las17…
These samples are the voice of one veteran, multiplied by the use of contemporary technology:

Now that's some scary shit, right there, huh?

My previous question was rhetorical, 'cause I know about this topic quite a lot with all my books)
But clips will be useful.

I'm sorry. I just told you a lot of stuff that you already knew.
Well, at least I know that I know now. Haha. Plus, anyone who happens to be reading these comments and is curious can go ahead and read the info, right?
It's good to know that we're both into American History though. High five!
