No problem, it's well-deserved! I wish Mulan got more attention, she's a great character (and not an actual "princess," thank you very much, Disney!).

Agreed! The two Disney movies I watched religiously as a kid were Mulan and Lion King - neither had any princesses  

Although now that I'm older any Disney movie will take me down nostalgia lane... haha

Same here on the nostalgia.

I believe Mulan was the 3rd movie I saw in theaters as a kid - preceded by Hercules and The Little Mermaid (both amazing). 

I don't mind if a character is legitimately a princess to begin with…what I really dislike is when Disney makes nearly every female character a 'princess' after the fact for marketing purposes. Like, is Belle actually a princess?

It's funny, because I always thought of Belle as a small town girl sort of deal- and that was really what her fairy tale was about.... 

Maybe because I was a tomboy as a kid- but I never really got around to watching snow white/cinderella until way after my "prime Disney age"... my favorites were Mulan, Lion King, and Hercules

That's exactly what Belle is…Disney just slapped the "princess" label on her because she marries a prince.

Pretty sure I saw Snow White/Cinderella and those sorts of films at least once when I was younger, but I don't really remember them. You have great favorites! Some of my favorites as a kid were The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, and A Bug's Life (Pixar, but still).

Definitely agree- of course Brave is a popular favorite right now- but I have to give it a few more years before I can say it makes my all time favorites  

Have you seen the TV series "Once upon a time"? I've been watching it while I worked on my Demon Hunter cosplay recently... I love the different spins they put on the traditional fairy tales!

I think if you're a fairy tale lover (and enjoy variations on the classics) it would be hard not to enjoy that show!  

Another one that I liked (way back when it came out) was the 10th kingdom.
