I drew this like sometime last year, but decided to post it up now. It's Lene and Jade's Thief robes.Like I have mentioned in the FAQs, the Sterelis are a group of Desert thieves. However, through the years there have been bases formed all over the continent...so it's not ONLY just desert thieves.
Though the outfits may change from thief to thief, a few things are constant to mark their loyalty/ association with the guild.
The gem on their forehead marking their rank.
The black mask hiding their face.
the white eyes (Which are night vision contact lenses) to sharpen their sight
and their thief name to mask their name.
Jade's Thief name is Jynx while Lene's is LB... which is the initials for Little Blue.

But with the outfits...you could obvisouly tell it's a sterelis if they aren't sneaky enough
(I'm imagining the scene in Aladin where he stole an apple and bread and picturing those girls above in his place...)

I was going to say that they look like desert thief outfits, then I read the description. You hit this one right on the mark!

I love the Arabic designs for the Sterelis outfits for some reasons clothes like this just really suite the more professional thieves. though just a quick little question about the lore of this world, is the Sterelis guild located in their version of Arabia or are their outfits just designed that way to pay homage the classic thieves of old?

They are indeed heavily based off of arabic. And the capital is located in the middle of the desert. Which is a shout out to the sahara desert.
As for.their outfits. Its a little of both paying homage and because they are located in the desert. There are other bases in the world, their outfits differ and probably doesnt resemble much of arabic in the sense of style because of climate. But the gem on their forehead, the white eyes, black mask and thief name applies to everyone in the guild.

Those are awesome designs. I always love the look of desert clothes~
If the gems signify rank, does that mean one of them ranks higher than the other? I got the impression they were equals.

Also, the gems are kinda wrong. I drew this with the mind set when they are older. So Lene would be Ruby Rank (Expert) and Jade would be Amethyst (Intermediate)
But in the present... Jade is Emerald (Beginner) and Lene is Amethyst (Intermediate)

Figured Lene would be the ranking one. She comes off as more worldly, I guess. Are there other ranks besides those? Sapphire or diamond?

Opal is beginner (Kindergarten level)
Then comes emerald (beginner)
Amethyst (intermediate)
Ruby (Expert)
Diamond (Master)
And the king of thieves wears a gold nugget

There's a kindergarten level for thieves? That sounds almost embarrassing XD
This is all really interesting. It's good to have some background for the thieves, even if I doubt the actual gem ranks will come up anytime soon.
