Description Lineart for my new piece. There will be trees and LOTS of leaves everywhere kinda like the Waiting For You piece i did. Except the fall version.

EDIT: "akibare" means "fine autumn day" in japanese.

DO NOT COLOR!!
Original pieces i keep to myself nowadays.

This piece is sensational! I absolutely adore this drawing. You get a real sense of depth/perception and the two-point perspective is almost bang-on! (three point LOL forgot about the figure e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="XD" /> ) My only critique, is that for some reason she appears almost floating...i'm not sure why, but I think I want to see the steps in front of her feet or something...I'm not sure. Or perhaps the placement of her left hand should rest squarely on the rails. But as this piece comes together I'm sure it will look more complete and the realism will intesify upon completion. I can't wait to see the colors! Other than that, another job well done! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)" />

I like the angle and depth of the perspective.

Her pose seems a bit awkward, however. Not anything technical, as she is anatomically correct, but rather it doesn't seem like a position where I would think "she's walking up stairs." This is mostly attributed to her arms, which are both completely straight and outstretched, whereas when walking up stairs you usually have your elbow down at your side

Her right arm would still work being straight if her left arm were relaxed and sort of lightly stroking the railing, being more of a guide than support--then it would really appear as if she were taking her time making it up the stairs, enjoying the scenery

Just something to keep in mind!

well, it's awesome and I can't wait for the finished version! minor observation: I'm not sure if the wrinkles in the skirt quite match her leg positioning. just something to check for the future. great job though

Love the perspective. And how she is stepping out of the picture really won it over for me.

That perspective is painfully good, though the hand rail under her left arm (our right) is off a tad.

the one crooked beam? that was done on purpose. i want to make the wood look kinda old and warped in places.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IceRune In reply to jadeedge [2009-09-04 06:40:25 +0000 UTC]

No, actually, I meant the beam most directly under her hand, the banister, for lack of a better word. It looks... twisted, not straight with the other "banister" on the upper level.

Sorry if that's too ambiguous. D:

Either way, it pwns anything I can do.

arvalis [2009-09-04 05:44:45 +0000 UTC]

i really like the idea here, though be careful, the perspective of the vertical beams on the hain rails is off, it doesnt match the hand rail up higher

jadeedge In reply to arvalis [2009-09-04 05:53:30 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Could you be a bit more specific? I'm trying to see where you're looking at...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

arvalis In reply to jadeedge [2009-09-04 06:05:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeah sorry its hard to explain . Underneath her left hand(our right), the vertical beams under the rail, where they connect to the rail, it should match the angle of the of the top rail on the platform the stairs are leading too, or the angle of the stairs. I dont know if that helped at all XD

jadeedge In reply to arvalis [2009-09-04 06:20:48 +0000 UTC]

no prob. i actually made that one crooked so i'd remember to paint the wood old and a little warped.
btw, your stuff is badass! Always nice to talk to people who know what they're doing.
