Here are the next in a series of pose references I did for the multi-talented Ms =ladydove7 , and which she graciously said would be fine to post here. As I mentioned in my journal, she is a wonderful collaborator, full of great and challenging ideas. The garb and some of the poses are a little different because these were done specifically to be used as ref's for a fictional character of hers, one Melakim [link] ; an intriguing fellow, whose favoured weapons appear to be shadow and steel. Thanks, and you are spot-on. The leading leg would have to be out enough to make the 90 degrees; which by definition would push it longer and lower. Of course, I doubt Iwould use this thing to lunge at anything (except, perhaps, to lunge at Feyn - who was royally pissed when he found out I had 'borrowed' it. To take a picture with, no less. Some people have no sense of humour.)

I would not use anything to lunge except whilst fencing. Then only in foil or epee. I never lunge for any other martial art.

What is interesting about this is the momentum you have over mind and matter. You can certainly be intimidated with the accurate aim against your enemy and the piercing of that weapon. Bravo Jade. I love this one too.
