Dataphages are strange, energy-based life forms with the unique ability to travel between the physical world and cyberspace. While in the digital world, they quite literally eat data and code to grow stronger. When they have reached their full size, a Dataphage splits in two like a bacteria.

It remains unknown whether the Dataphage originates from the physical or digital world. While it is almost assuredly man-made, no evidence of its original creators has surfaced. All that is known is that the species was first discovered on Chiname.
