Aye, they may weigh 80 pounds, but it will break you before you break it Like Russia
That is one reason why I use it, it is a whole lot better then a cheap flat monitor for gaming in ever way, other then it only being 4:3, never had a real incentive to upgrade just yet

Hey, that's cool. No need in spending the money if you're happy with your current monitor. ^^
I only really play turn based strategies and RPGs these days, so a fast refresh rate isn't particularly
necessary. Mostly use the computer for watching things as well. News, opinion, lists, documentaries,
etc.

I play a lot of FPS games and older titles that are 4:3 anyways so it works out, I don't play many new things so that is also a reason I don't need to really upgrade
This is what it looks like if your curious julian2365.deviantart.com/art/β¦

*nods* Yeah, I already saw when I watched your page. ^^
Used to play FPSs a lot more, but as I age I find my reflexes slowing so I only really play co-operative FPSs now. Payday 2, Left for Dead 2. Used to play Team Fortress 2 a lot too, but I grew tired of it. Ended up giving all my items to an old high school buddy.

I just built myself a gaming rig with an i7 860 currently at 3GHz cuz dat stock cooler is a pain >.< 16GB of Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600MHz RAM and a Gainward GTX 770 Phantom. I'm very well aware of my CPU not being the latest and greatest but it's an i7 and thanks to its hyperthreading it still performs just as well as modern i5s do. (I will be getting a new board with a new CPU soon though)

It is and I'm quite proud of it. But I'm wondering... how does a couple of 670s perform in modern games? I'm pretty curious

Wanna add me on Steam? : D We might be able to play some games together (my library ain't all too big though considering I just upgraded from a GT 630 to this GTX 770, but I'm sure I have a few games you also have)

Several actually; Arma 2 (All DLCs and with that DayZ), Besiege, GTA IV + all DLCs, H1Z1 and Assassin's Creed XD I feel proud now... But how the hell did you get over 'two thousand' games?! O.O

Money, a lot of money. *Laughs*
That and the will to support the indie market on Steam.
I buy a TON of cheap games, many of which I've never played,
just to support the studios. >.<

Same : D But you have a job, don't you? Your profile says you're 31... dude you're lucky XD It's pretty hard saving money when you're only 16 XD It took me seriously 3 months to save up for an 850w powersupply for my PC ._.

I bought my computer about 3 years ago now... I probably won't need to do any upgrading for another 3... >.<
(I have 32 gigs of RAM... >.<)

Maybe change from the dual 670s to 970s or a single 980/ 980ti but other than that your system is a pretty badass rig.

Did you build the system yourself ?

Davidtechlife In reply to JaegerPony [2014-12-05 16:36:22 +0000 UTC]
Oh niceΒ Β I'm a PC builder myself and I must say this is a very formidable machineΒ for gaming and just about any other
compute task. Must be nice being able to play games like crysis 3 in 1920X1080 with max settings
P.S: what games do you play on that sweet machine ?Β

JaegerPony In reply to Davidtechlife [2014-12-05 16:45:13 +0000 UTC]
Right now? Mostly Civilization: Beyond Earth...
Some Borderlands 2, FTL, Skyrim, Sanctum 2.... uhh... lots of different things. Beat Hazard a lot too.
Yeah, having this much processing power is nice. I run a whole suite of anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware software, with iTunes running, Last.fm, World Community Grid (uses excess computing power to solve complex, repetitive problems for different causes), usually with Firefox open on a few tabs while gaming. No slow-down unless I leave my computer on for a week or so. It's great to be able to run it allΒ without issue.

Actually, having the parts outside the case and building it completely is an even better experience

XD I know that. That's exactly how I felt a year ago. I thought that PCs were extremely interesting but I just didn't know what the parts inside a PC are called, nor did I know where they'd go XD
