Description
I finally decided to post most of costume projects I was commissioned for in the past. I just closed my cosplay commission services recently for I would want to work with my own designs from now on.This costume is my client's own design. For other views: [link]
I did a lot of aging to achieve the rusty look in this costume. I learned a lot from this and had lots of fun as well.

Interesting design. I like this.
The color is a good one. I can see the age and distressing that gives it a more "authentic" feeling to it. Very nice. It's also vibrant and dull enough at the same time - very victorian military (which is what I believe you were going for?)
The distress work around the buttons is very impressive. It is like the person that owned this had actually seen some combat, had sweated, and had actually USED the outfit. The same applies to the vest underneath.
The only thing that is, perhaps, somewhat less inspiring is the black trim. Perhaps it is just that I am not seeing this properly, but with all the nice older details, it seems a bit newer than I would expect. Then again, I may be seeing something that is not there.
The sash is a nice touch, rakish and flamboyant but not too much so. Add the epaulets and you have a very nice uniform.
Overall - A- But that's only because I can't see the pants. *grin* It is very well constructed and I hope to see more of your creations in the near future.

Thank you very much for the very detailed critic. I actually understand what you mean with the black trim. I realized later that I should have painted it with more earthly tones to kill the shiny effect rather than black.

I love this jacket. Its like one that my soldiers wear in my story called "The Ambush". Male soldiers ambushed and massacred (with weapons making them unconscious) by female warriors. Except my soldiers wear huge long blue flared pants with them.

Very nice work and attention to detail! I really love the red. So much of steampunk involves more muted tones, so this would definitely stand out in the crowd. Even so, the brown vest does give it some continuity to the rest of the genre. It's a beautiful coat.
