As I understand it, there are Beaufighters under restoration/reconstruction - not only in the U.K. but also in Australia, a Blenheim that IS already flying... a Wellington outside of the RAF Museum that might again see air and a Defiant that is somewhat worse for wear. Hamptons... Halifaxes... and Whitleys . Oh, If I only had the money! I'd have every one of them built or restored.
The Shuttleworth Collection has a real Lockheed Hudson, but saw no buyers in their auction of the Trust's assets.
SHAME!
Gawd, I am an American... but the truth of WW2 was that the RAF kept things going until we arrived to put our hand in. The United Kingdom produced some of the best (and worst) combat aircraft ever - and all of the contributions made by them need to be preserved.
And what better way than to have a flying example of each participant?

The RAF (and the Fleet Air Arm) certainly had some wonderful designs. I do have a soft spot for the Defiant, and would love to see one in the air.

Getting a Wellington flying is something I hadn't heard about, but I the Blenheim (assuming that we're thinking about the same one) suffered a hard landing at Duxford a while ago, so has been grounded. The Blenheim Society had a stand at an event a Old Warden last year, where they said they were aiming to be flying again this year.

It would be lovely to see all the classics that you mention, but I would be a challenge! My admittedly rather limited experience from my other hobby (miniature railways) is that plenty of people will help when it's money you need. The hard bit is finding the ones who will give up their time every summer weekend to keep it going. (not that I mean to talk down all the hard work that goes into fund raising)

Oh, it certainly would be a challenge - but well worth the effort. Once classic aircraft are no more, the only memories of their existence are photographs in history books. Much better to have them real and tangible for future generations to see, hear and touch!

The RAF Museum's Wellington is a trainer conversion (no turrets, etc.,) and hasn't flown in years.
There is a Hampden/Hereford in a museum in Canada that is also static.
I understand that a Halifax is being resurrected, but I don't have much information about it.

Perhaps, one day, other warbirds like the Blenheim will be discovered languishing in someone's barn!

One can only hope.

Need more Lancs flying! Maybe some ingenious type can take an old Avro Lincoln and turn it into a Lancaster - after all, there are several similarities between the Lanc and the Lincoln

You are very lucky to be able to see a Lancaster in flight. I'm jealous.

Cheers. It's a great sight. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight are defiantly worth travailing to see.
