Description Explorer Class GEA (Greater Earth Aliance) Anastasia.

Inspired by the many Federation starship designs from Star Trek and in particular the clean simple and elegant design philosophy of Matt Jefferies.

Anastasia is not part of the Star Trek universe but was built in homage to Star Trek which gave the world a positive and exciting vision of the future way back in the 20th century. Commissioned in 2340. Length 1.62 km. Anastasia is an intergalactic and inter dimensional exploration and ET contact vessel.

Nice work. the Star trek inspiration shows through nicely. Very nicely done surface detailing by the way.

If its interdimensional I can suggest a few places to visit, and a few to avoid..the locals are kind of ....cranky

This is way bigger than it looks, bigger than most Trek ships for sure. It seems you made your own version of Trek style, a mixture with Chris Foss.

Thanks, it is a large ship. But I think there are fewer size restrictions in space. I'm pretty sure there will be truly colossal spaceships in our future.

Its been a while, I always imagine ground facility can be completely removed with city ships, then we can have both nature and high tech civilization.

I think so too. We avoid impacting the surface as much as possible to let nature recover. Eventually Earth becomes an accessible nature park and we become its guardians. Eventually other species become sentient and we avoid interfering in their natural development. Earth is the mother of many successive intelligent technological species.

I think that makes a great alt reality idea.

Impressive. The vessel of the Interstellar Commonwealth - a multi-species polity in a sci-fi setting that I trying to create - are biomechanical in nature and I like to imagine them as being similar in design to Aquan Sebrutan vessels (from the Firestorm Armada miniature game). And your designs are surprisingly similar to the Aquan ships.

Thanks, I checked out images of the Aquan ships and I see what you mean. I'm glad you like my design

Even though the basic layout is visible, she is still very much different enough to come off as original.

Thanks.. It does look a lot like Cuttlebone. I like craft that have an organic feel. Nature is the best designer.

Yes, I'm sure I will from time to time. The idea of a hidden human high-tech history is fascinating and delicious food for thought. It's excellent material for the imagination and art.

That is just beautiful in the inception - the artwork is crisp, the work excellent in execution, and the design a joy.

There is a professionalism here that makes this piece - fabulous and thank you for sharing

Out of curiosity - are there colours for this or just Black lines?

Also - the grids at the front and back - they windows sir?

JamesF63 In reply to Colourbrand [2016-03-21 06:36:04 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much. I was really chuffed to read your comment
As for the colours, I imagine a semi gloss pearl white hull with navy blue or burgundy stripes. The grids are composed of large areas of multi-deck tinted glazing. The tint density and colour can be adjusted from fully clear to fully reflective or fully dark. The glazing in these special areas are floor to ceiling with heights ranging from 4m to 20m. The hull is force field protected from impacts with small or large dust particles and asteroids.
thanks again for your positive comments ☺️✨
