The Kaiss peninsula is home for three nations:

The Ubictorate of Nulso is the region where the Emperor of the Third Empire can exert his control without restrictions, his personal fiefdom. All the colonies are considered Ubictorates as well, and while their standing armies might be from different countries and they are under direct imperial control as vasal dominions. The Emperor´s position is an elective one among the nations that conform the Third Empire. Each country sends a candidate and the Grand Senate in Nulso, formed with variable number of members, votes for the most appropriate person (at least in theory). The Emperor is considered the embodiment of power, legitimacy and authority of the old ways of the First City, Casbadirras. The great bureaucracy of Nulso tries to keep the vast web of treaties, allegiances, accords, agreements in effect, but they do not always meet their goals: war have erupted among members of the Third Empire in the past.

The Republic of Old Bridge is an old nation with an expansionist past that made it invade neighboring nations and submit them to their tyrannical rule. However, the tyrants -called Seneschals- were unseated by popular and military uprisings, and the subsequent governments tried to make amendments from past grievances. Nowadays they field the biggest number of soldiers to the recently created Imperial Militia Corps, and there are many martial academies across the nation. The current war efforts of the government in the last centuries are focused on defending the Third Empire from their enemies and expand the borders of the colonies. There are groups within the nation, and not just in the military, that are conspiring to bring back the despotic way of ruling of the past, and subjugate thee other ¨inferior¨ nations, whether or not are already part of Third Empire. More than half a dozen civil wars ravaged the country in the past and many think the next one is about to break out soon.

As its official name suggests, the Maritime State of Dosbin is one of the most important naval powers, with their ships being the first of the Southern Airore to circumnavigate the planet. Even though both countries are under the same banner of the Third Empire, Dosbin and Old Bridge have a turbulent past, where the latter nation conquered the former several times and governed through a regime of terror and oppression. Dosbin rebelled and gained independence in all those occasions, and still nowadays they feel bitterness against their former masters from centuries ago. Both countries have many cultural traits in common, but Dosbin is focused on the seas, and it is home of sailors, fishermen, smugglers and explorers alike: most of the crews of the Imperial Navy are composed by Dosbinese people.

More than three millenia ago, Erim or Irem, the  City of Many Pillars, was the capital of the great empire of the Hiyyi, a dominion that ruled over several dozen of millions in a belt of fertile lands that spanned from what is nowadays Dosbin to Akharastán. Their zenith of power came to and end when a disastrous plague obliterated most of its population and brought ecological imbalance, making the fertile lands into a barren desert. Erim was consumed by waves of sands, and some inhabitants from the lower echelons of society had some resistance, and these survivors founded new cities in the Khaurán Heights, and with the pass of time were able to recover and develop a small nation. Heavily influenced by the former Hiyyi culture, the Khaurese revere any relics from the former past and they´re ruled by the so-called Philosophers, who decipher and interpret the lost knowledge from Erim.
