At the end of the FMA movie I was left with the sadness that I did not get an Elric!Brother!Hug in that movie... I mean, when both of them were trying so hard to find each other I expected a little more reaction. Some kind of emotion of some kind. Ed was acting like he never left at all. I think of all people Ed needed a hug the most because he'd been living this whole time not knowing whether his brother was even alive let alone whether he'd succeeded in giving him back his body or not. To finally have a human being hug after four years of armor and two years of separation... I wanted an elric hug really really badly.I may draw more later, but this is what I cranked out last night in my sketchbook.

I doubt I seen the movie, but you're right, after a journey like that a hug would be the least of what they could have done : o

I knew who these two were even before I clicked to view the picture! Wonderfully done! I'm a major FMA fan, and a glutton for anything to do with brotherly love (and I don't mean in the lovers way), and yeah, I agree with you about the end of the movie. Personally, I play it in my head that there was an Elric hug, just off camera,lol.

My sister just recently dragged me into FMA even though I don't have much of a fondness for anime. The relationship between the brothers is what caught me. Reminds me of the brothers in Supernatural.
I agree that the movie was lacking. It also felt a little rushed. I think they might have just been trying to give the series an ending. Needed more brother moments. This feels like a missing scene from the movie.
I was wondering if it would be alright if I tried my hand at coloring it sometime in the future?

I can totally imagine Ed with this slightly shocked look on his face, like, his eyes are slightly wide, his mouth slightly open, and then it eases into a nice smile, his eyes closing, his grip on Al tightening....Awww! ><

This is absolutely gorgeous. I love the simplicity of this; it adds all the more depth and emotion to it. I also wish they'd put a good brother-hug in the FMA movie. I mean sure, Al hugged him when they first reunited...but later on, when Ed FINALLY saw his brother in the flesh...he was like "that's nice" and NOTHING HAPPENED!! Grrrrr...stupid movie people...
But this makes me feel a bit better about that, lol. Thanks for dreaming up a beautiful moment for those of us who needed to see it.
