This comic magazine kicks so much ass since i've been subscribing back in 1999 when i was 18 and i also adored the movie since i was 12 in 1993 on TBS then when i was 14 in it's uncut uncensored finally released un-TBS video version in 1996 when i was 15.
Do you think both the movie and magazine influenced The Fifth Element and Avatar? James Cameron and Luc Besson are big fans of the movie and magazine.

Heavy Metal was the first adult animated movie I ever saw, and by adult I am not referring to just the boobies 
I do agree with the possibility of this series inspiring Jim Cameron and Luc Besson, With all the stylistic overtones of the Fifth element and the often ignored fact that Avatar was created in concept about 15 years ago and tweaked through the years making Heavy Metal one possible influence, Dances With Wolves a PEER movie not a derivation, and too early for Disney's Pocahontas or Ferngully to have sparked it.
So considering the alternatives, give me a Heavy Metal inspired movie any day!
