Same here, I loved those angels too. It seems like WotC really enjoys pulling at our heartstrings. Hopefully they will find a way to restore her again.

For now - from what I read - the only angel who hasn't ended up brainwashed by whatever made Avacyn go mental is Sigarda, Host of Herons (Green/White), and there's talk of a White/Black angel among the sisters as well...

Is that so? That kind of bums me out even more now because Avacyn and Gisela were my two favorite of the Innistrad Angels. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like WotC will either corrupt or kill off good characters now. They killed off Elspeth, twisted Heliod, nearly corrupted Karn, killed off Ulamog, and now the will corrupt and probably kill off Avacyn.

A white/black one? I was actually hoping for one from the original set. But nice to hear it might be real now.

I honestly hate the Eldrazi, but I especially hate the Phyrexians. I usually tend to steer clear from 'evil' character cards, honestly.

I didn't hate the Eldrazi, i actually thought they were pretty neat, but very overpowered. The Phyrexians gave me nightmares and I wanted the Mirrans to win. I feel that the Phyrexians were done and over with with the conclusion of the Urza and Weatherlight sagas, and it should have stayed that way.

I'm like you, I like to the "Good" characters.

I think Elspeth is safe actually.  They killed her off in a way that wasn't actually killing her.  I think they just want an excuse to later introduce her as a white/black plainswalker without having to change her underlying character too much.  The Greek underworld is a very different sort of 'dead' than dead.

As for Avacyn, my hopes are much smaller tbh I'm super disappointed in this turn, especially so damn SOON aver Innistrad part 1.  I'd actually held out hope that Avacyn's popularity among the gamers might turn her into the first Angel Plainswalker we've all been wanting (some super powerful creature needs to be elevated to be a real match for Nicol Bolas after all!) but it seems instead we're going to get the 'good corrupted to evil' bs we always get.  Here's a rub?  How come Evil never gets corrupted with good?  Huh?  Where's the balance?

That is a suspicion is shared amongst my friends and myself that Elspeth will be back, but undead and more than likely, corrupted of some kind. I get the feeling she will be seeking revenge against the gods. In all honesty, I think Elspeth was one of those characters that they could have done so much more with, instead of focusing on Jace (nothing against Jace, I love his cards and character, I just think he is over used now) Yeah I know a little about the Greek Underworld, being Greek and all, lol.

I really feel the same way about Avacyn. I had such high hopes for the character. It's kind of funny, I had hoped she would have been the first Angel Planeswalker when I first heard her announced in Avacyn Restored. But her first creature card wasn't bad, in fact, it was really great.

They just won't keep the Good good anymore. I love this game but i don't want to play cards with characters that keep getting corrupted. There is more to this game then just cards, it has characters and at least some should stay Good. Like you said, where's the balance? Avacyn in the original block was that balance.

Some things should just be left alone, Avacyn was one of those things. At least we still have her original card: Avacyn Angel of Hope.

I still have a very slim hope that Avacyn WILL be our first angel plainswalker.  Shadows over Innistrad has me simultaneously nervous and hopeful.  I know Angels can't 'naturally' be plainswalkers in MTG lore, but the DEMAND for one is no doubt weighted on the minds of WotC.  So, what might they plot?  Another Innistrad set, dash all white deck builders hopes for maintaining a popular character again (cause they never threaten red's popular characters!  Or Blue or Black or Green wtf!) by corrupting Avacyn and 'apparently' killing her in set one.  Showing how bad things are getting by expansion two, and then at the end of it all, Sorren doing something to bring his 'daughter' back, only as a Plainswalker so that she would no longer be susceptible to another plainswalker's intentions to corrupt her.

There was just something in that most recent plot write up of Avacyn being corrupted.  I noticed two things most primarily, the first was that BEFORE being corrupted she was like almost literally a superheroine on Innestrad, she answered a lost childs prayer DIRECTLY because she was just that kind hearted and caring, and then the actuall 'madness' seemed to be imposed on her by an outside source... so my fingers are crossed.

I'll be incredibly angry though if they just off Avacyn in the end.

I read that write up. I know the part you are talking about. Whatever affected Avacyn seemed to affect the mother of the child as well as her joy turned to anger. She was everything a guardian angel should be. And it makes me sad that once again WotC corrupted and now destroyed a great character. Prepare to be angey because they have Sorin offing Avacyn,it would appear.

I had hope that she would be a planeswalker as well, as it woukd have been a nice change for planeswalker cards. But it looks like all hope has been dashed by a spoiled card named Anguished Unmaking. The art shows Sorin disintegrating Avacyn and the flavor text implies that she will be gone permanently. It almost feels like WotC now has something against white. I also get the feeling Nahiri is behind this, since she is the same colors as the new Avacyn.
