started coloring for a few years ago and had asked me if it was ok to color my art. Of course, I said sure. Well, its been amazing to see the growth she has made since then and continues to make. So, what did I do? I commissioned her!!!

I know, but I miss Helena Bertinelli being a separate character from Helena Wayne. Bertinelli was the Dark Horse, awkward stepchild of the Batman Family (which I guess Jason Todd replaced her in the respect in the New 52). Since first appearing in 1989, Bertinelli has tried so hard to not only establish herself as a hero, but gain the respect of her peers. Thought of asΒ unpredictable and violent, she is just the product of theΒ Mafioso environment she was raised in; an eye for a eye, tooth for a tooth. Bertinelli has tried so hard to impress Batman not only because he's the most prominent hero in Gotham, but because she sees him as a kind of father figure.Β
I just wish both Helenas could exist in the sameΒ continuity like Kara Zor-El/Supergirl and Karen Zor-L/Power Girl have. Making them one in the same is sloppy, Wayne was too well adjusted and happy to ever be so violent with criminals.Β EspeciallyΒ since it was her father, Batman himself who trained her. I just hope they bring Bertinelli back as her own individual character, she's too good of one not to.
