Description Friendly reminder that you're fabulous and have so many reasons to think you're great

This is my thing for 2015; my New Year's resolution was 'to love myself so much that it offends other people'. People seem to have a weird attitude towards self-love but I am all for it and it should be more of a thing. I'm really pushing it personally and so far it's actually made a really big difference; a little bit of self-confidence and looking after yourself really goes a long way. Since my anxiety kicked in seriously at the end of last year and shot my self-esteem to bits I really did not like myself, and there are still some things I don't like, but the whole point of truly loving something is that you don't just ignore the flaws and pretend they don't exist; you acknowledge they exist but carry on loving the thing despite those flaws. Yes I can be clingy and needy and cry way too much but I can draw nice pictures and I have people who love me and I'm pretty cute so I think that's a win for me <3

It's hard to do to start with but please please be nice to yourselves <3 You're all wonderful and you need to start recognising that in yourselves - but if it ever gets too hard and you just can't find the love then come and tell me, I've got more than enough love for everyone <33333

This should probably be one of many of my new year's resolutions as well. Trying to love yourself is a really hard to thing to do X'D Like PuddingValkyrie said, I also have a tendency to do one small thing wrong and then think of everything I've ever done wrong in my entire life and how much of a failure I am. I have trouble forgetting things I messed up on, so I think everyone else will remember them forever as well.

This is a really sweet drawing, I love the limited use of colour and the little dangly patterns on the ribbon <3

It's harder than it sounds when you're starting, but once you get the hang of it it's so much easier :> I also do the thing of 'I did one thing wrong so let's think of literally everything I've done wrong in my life' way too much and need to stop, but at least I'm finding ways of cancelling it out. And I'm glad you like the drawing, I was on a bit of a roll and made loads so I'll post the others up soon!

Some pretty valuable advice I heard was the idea that self-love is a perpetual work in progress. You don't have to learn to love yourself all at once--it's just something to work on day by day
But hey, you and I are in the same boat here (albeit for different reasons) so I know this feel.

Yup yup, it's a gradual process but with every little step you take the next one gets even easier :> Once you get the ball rolling it's not that hard at all, it just takes a bit of practice <3

Good advice.

It's so easy to fall into patterns of negativity, like those times at 3am you can't sleep and somehow start thinking about every stupid/buttface thing you did since you were 5 and convincing yourself you're a terrible person...  and forget about all the nice things you did and want to do.

I do that way too often I'm desperately trying to unlearn it as a bad habit but I still lose a lot of sleep cringing over silly things committed by my naive teenage self. Luckily I also have lots of nice things to think about which usually cancels it out :>
