sorry if that question was asked before, but I wonder how much do you take in consideration face color zones - yellow forehead, pink center, bluish chin. Your process looks like you're using one hue for whole face or do I missed something? Can you share your your thoughts how you pick colors for skin?

Hey!
Since these portraits are from life I just try to be as close to reality as possible, some models do have more visible color zones than others
When I do portraits from imagination I usually mix a bit of red to the nose and cheeks.

I'm curious...Why did you go from a warm light source to cool in the final stage?

Interessant, wie du da vorgegangen bist. Der erste Step ist ja fast ein bisschen Gruselig - so ganz ohne Gesicht... Und dass du dann die Nase als erstes ausgerendert hast!

Why did you choose to add the cool filter at the end? Just curious.

janaschi In reply to kelleybean86 [2014-12-02 18:41:34 +0000 UTC]

Because artificial light tends to be really warm and orangy. Our brain usually balance it out, but when you see a picture like this it feels to warm. I added the color filter to bring back cool tones
