Description After learning the art of sand sculpture from Jane, Terk began building random animals. One day Tantor was distractedly walking along the beach when he suddenly came face to face with a leopard! Before he could realize that it was made of sand he quickly tried to hide himself the best he could.

lol! cool pic! tantor and terk are brilliant you perfectly catched their characters in my opinion!
and no bother because of the bg ^^ you'll get better in time and i know that bgs can be horrible work i'm already learning a bit about bgs too, i hate to draw them but i think my chars look better with a nice bg so i have to >.<

I think the background looks fine ^^ The title of this resembles the famous phrase in The Heart of Darkness novel... did you chose it for that reason?

Actually I got the title from the scene in the movie when Tantor and the gorillas come across the humans camp. I thought it fit, seeing as that scene inspired this one.

this is very well done! i dont know why you dont like the background, the waterfall is really nice! my one crit is that i wish the sand leopard stood out more, its a little lost in the sand background. maybe another angle of the view would have suited it better. still, i think this is a good piece and you did a fine job

This is so funny! I love it! I love the waterfall and the sand sculpture. Both turned out incredible!

I hear ya, I hate doing backgrounds too. I wonder how others make them look so good? They must have taken a course on Photoshop or something?!

It'd be nice if someone would make a decent basic tutorial on backgrounds. The only ones I can find are just using brushes that come with photoshop.

Tell me about it ... I can't make a background to save my life. It's so hard. That's why most of my backgrounds are left white, I don't even wanna bother!
