Description This dress is based on an original dress dating to 1816-19.

The original dress was cream silk with a satin stripe - the nearest my local shop had was this very fine, cream cotton muslin, which is typical of the fabrics used at the time.

The skirt seams are French seams, anything else would look very untidy as the fabric is so sheer. The bodice and sleeves are lines with fine white cotton, the skirt is unlined, what you can see through the fabric is the slip that is worn underneath.

There should be some artifical roses on the intersections of the ribbon on the sleeve but I haven't worked out how to make them yet and I forgot to buy some.

Thank you.
I do actually still have this one for sale. It is a UK size 10/12 £125 (US size 12/14 €199) It's modelled on an old size UK 12 Stockman mannequin and is about a 34" bust. If you're interested note me and I can tell you the exact size it will fit.

Your bum is good in anything Regency clothes often had a little pad sewn into the back to stop the fabric from dipping in at the waist and there is so much fabric at the back ther's planty of room for bottoms.

Wide hips on the other hand are definately undesirable! Those Regency corsets are really quite horrible.

My, you have been busy. Splendid work on all of these. I like how made these seams and hems, something I haven't quite gotten the grasp of yet.

Thank you. As for the seams, it's just practise. When I was at school we had to practise sewing on lines on paper (without thread). It was only when we'd mastere sewing exactly on the lines, turning corners with a needle point right on the corner and making curves were we finally let loose with thread on real cloth. I hated it at the time, but it's set me in good stead.

Thank you - as soon as I saw the fabric I knew it was right for this piece.
