Description this gown was really interesting, this is a gown from the arts-and-crafts movement, so it's all not fashionable-fashionable. Totally unfitted and enveloping in an era when women were corseting and buried under bustles and other crazy foundation garments.

I love the Aesthetic movement, and I'm not a fan of corsets, but honestly, I think clothing should be a bit more flattering to the figure than this.

I have no idea what the genuine article looks like, but this just seems very bulky, which is something I don't particularly like, either.

Either way, regardless of how I feel about the garment in question, this drawing is just marvellous.

The colors of the dress make it a lot more interesting. A pencil sketch is perhaps not the best way to capture it, and this was not one of my better sketches. That said, I can't imagine that the dress would be that flattering on anyone.

aren't they cool? I was sort of thinking of incorporating that into a modern design. Y'know, when I have 'spare time' *snort*
