I bought myself Sigma's 70-300 lens and had to try it out in the streets of Gothenburg. I've always been intrigued by the "organized", or so they say, beggars we have in the city but I still pitty them. I took several shots of this man from a good 10 meters away on a busy market street, Fredsgatan to be exact, and have to say I'm pleased with the zoom my new lens can achieve. Some HDR processing and texture work and here's the result...
I did feel sorry for him so I gave him some coins. Needless to say, no one gave him any during those minutes I took these shots of him...organized or not...:/

Thanks! Sure I can, the shot itself is tonemapped into an HDR in Photomatix and then I blended a texture in it in photoshop. Does that answer your question?

It does look like a painting. WOW. I love he is so sharp while everyone else is less focused. It really does convey the emotion of someone who is on a busy street yet totally alone. Nice work!

Very Nice, interesting shot! may i ask your processing technique, photomatix or PS? ... for the hdr effect, also I'm assuming single exposure? I also own that lens, I really enjoy it.

Thanks! Yes, both Photomatix and photoshop on a single shot so it's rather tonemapped than an HDR according to the fanatics...
It's a good lens for street photopraphy! And any outdoor shooting for that matter. Will have to try it's macro function as well.
