Description
Made in GMod.Link rescues Princess Zelda from the clutches of Dark Link.
I have to admit, I've always found Dark Link a bit of an over-rated character (right up with Fierce Deity Link). It feels nice to put him in his place now and then.
To paraphrase Duane and BrandO: Dark Link is just the shadow of the best.

I admit that it's hard to see, but he's holding the Master Sword in reverse and stabbing it in Dark's stomach (hence Dark's expression).

He might be a bit of an overrated character perhaps indeed. But trust me, Midna is one truly overrated character and I also believe Fierce Deity Link is alot more overrated than Dark Link.
Dark Link is only overrated for yaoi and the perverted yaoi artists who are overly obsessed with LinkxDark Link.
This makes me sad cause I´ve allways thought of Dark Link as really dark, mysterious and evil. Of course, Ganondorf wins all evil cause he´s the King of Evil. But Dark Link is Hero Link´s dark side and possesses all strentgh he has.
I seriously can´t understand a single place where Dark Link belongs in the perverted sick way the yaoi artists describes him. All I can think about is, Darkness,shadow,mirror,reflection,evil counterpart,evil and insane, the colour crimson which also leads to blood.
And by continuing, I can´t see where any Zelda or Nintendo character could even be near yoai or anime.
Either ways, I really like this pic and it truly is something awesome and mystical.

I think that I consider Dark Link more overrated than Midna or FD Link because I've been a fan of the series since Link's Awakening, and thus have been hearing about Dark Link since his return in OoT.
In my opinion, he has potential as a good villain for the reasons that you mentioned, but in fanfiction, I've seen him overdone, and generally having the same personality every time (I will smack the next person who has him say "I am you!!" to Link, by the way).
Why has he captured Zelda? Well, I didn't have a story for this when I made it, but I added one later. It involves Ganon's T-Rex:

I´ve also been a fan of the series in a long time and I became a real fan thanks to Oot and it was there I saw him the first time and he was just so awesome and mysterious. I like mysterious things.
I haven´t read all fanfictions but I do get your pioint there. And seriously in the sick yaoi art and fanfictions he´s not only overdone, but also completely screwed and messed up.
And lol, don´t smack me. But I´m also writing fanfiction and in my TP fanfiction he has a pretty big role along with Dark Zelda. Even tough I will not use the exact sentence you described, his dialoge when it comes to that part will mean the same.
I´m not so much for simple sentences when it comes to fanfictions If not the answer is short.
Lol, fanfiction is among my interests like poems and other writing. And of course, I´m a big Loz fan.
Btw, I searched the link you sent me but I found no story for Ganondorf on the T-rex or the captured Zelda. Mind to post the story here instead?

In any case:
Ages ago, the fabled Hero of Time waged a holy battle against Ganondorf, the King of Evil. He struck down the vile fiend, ending his dark reign over the kingdom of Hyrule.

Hyrule returned to normal, and the Hero grew old and left this mortal coil. Ages passed, and his legend was forgotten, save one detail:
A prophecy was uttered. Ganondorf would return to life and wreak havoc on Hyrule once again.
Princess Zelda was kidnapped by the foulest monsters to walk the lands of Hyrule. Link, a young lad and descendent of the Hero of Time, braved many dangers to rescue her, all the while worrying that this was a sign of Ganon's return.
He finally found the princess, striking down his own shadow self to finally rescue her.

The pair returned to Hyrule. The people praised the young hero, and he became the princess's personal bodyguard.
Years passed. Link and Zelda grew closer, and were eventually joined together in matrimony.

The hero and the princess, along with the rest of Hyrule, ceased worrying about the prophecy.
Surely Ganondorf was gone forever?
But they were wrong. So very wrong.
Ganondorf had recovered his life long ago, and had been merely preparing himself to crush Hyrule in one fell stroke.
