Alternate title: "I Never Met A Bandwagon I Didn't Like".a friend linked me to Homestuck being all YOU'VE GOT TO READ THIIIIIS and I started reading and I was like huh this is pretty funny HOLY SHIT WHAT WAS THAT this is AMAZING. And then I realized I was head over heels flushed for this comic. True story.
Anyway, I made some silly drawings!
So these dudes are pretty obvious. Clockwise from top left, we have PM, WQ, WV, and Jack (but his name will pretty much always be Spades Slick in my head. I had to remind myself when I was sketching to stick him in that obnoxious outfit instead of a tailored suit, but that turned out to be hilarious so it's all right).
PM and WV are basically my favorite characters in the comic: PM because she's such a prime example of Crouching Wallflower, Hidden Badass (a Plain Jane, mild-mannered mail lady who will fuck your shit up, how is that not the best ever), and WV because he's just so damn loopy, and yet incredibly courageous.
All of the carapaced folks work best as critters, with their big round heads and beady eyes and silliness, but it was fun to play around with what they might look like as human beings.
Also, I totally forgot PM's and Jack's hats. I'm so sorry.

I'm pretty new to Homestuck (haven't even caught up yet! :I), so this is the first pic of humanized exiles I see!! And I'm pretty sure it's the best! 8'D

SHIIIIIIIT. HOW CUTE IS NOT THAT WV!?! My lord. Even though PM's mah favorite exile, I've always liked WV and now he just swooshed up my favvo list just because he lookes so freaken adorable! Like, I'm dying here! I can just stare at those big gray eyes all day long, imagining him flipping out over pumpkins an' shiz, being a major, d'awww! I can even imagine him as Warweary Villein (not sure I spelled that right) bein' all revolutionary and stuff.
Also, I am talking like Gamzee in my head right now wtf.
Now let's move on to the real star here. PM. HHNNNNNHGG. I can't look at her for too long because SHE WILL STEAL MY SOUL WITH HER CUTE. She just looks perfect. PERFECT I TELL YOU! gah

So I really love this. You can really tell their personalities from their expressions. I wasn't a huge fan of the Exiles when I first read Homestuck but they've slowly grown on me~
(I was wondering if you'd possibly let me use this WV as an icon for an RP on Tumblr that I'm in called Humanstuck? I'm playing him as a human, but sadly I have no artistic skills whatsoever D: This is just how I saw him as a human, and of course I would credit you on the info page. If that's not ok I totally understand, though.)

thank you! It's fun to think about what Jack Noir would look like as a human, isn't it? Apparently, all the versions ever made share some common traits: the sharp nose, the slicked-back hair... there's something about his character that screams for that kind of look.

I love how, as humans, you made them look like unique individuals, with their own face shapes, body types, and complexions. A lot of the characters look the same in the comic because of its style, but that doesn't mean they have to all look alike in the fanart, too.

Thank you! I did try to make each of them unique, and there are subtle differences in canon that I used as guidance but a lot of it was thinking about what might suit each character's personality, too. And besides, it's no fun if everyone looks the same!

Jack forgives you about the lack of hats. I dig his design and would love to see it in a tailor suit, looking pimp as the rest of the MNC. (Except for Deuce, Deuce can be cute and adorable.)
I love the design for PM and WV; WV reminds me a bit of Wybie but that's a good thing. They both share many common traits. PM is just UTTERLY adorable.

It's the sweet expression of delight. I can easily see that expression on Wybie and I could see Wybie and Coraline doing just fine in Homestruck. The cat would not be amused. I very much doubt Wybie eats Uranium.
