I went to A-kon 21 this weekend and had a ...errr.. time.
The highlight and main reason I went was to see the Udon crew,a nd maybe get a few wins under my belt in some Tekken 6 and Super Street Fighter IV tournoments.

I missed the panel on Friday,and on Sunday which was a bummer.

On Saterday I did get Eric to draw a sketch commsion for me. He mentioned that he liked to draw the women. The head shots where cheaper so I decided I wantedone of Rainbow Mika since she is so rare to see art of.
The only real condition I wanted about it was to not make her look skinny. I mean shes a pro wrestler so she has to have some meat on her you know? I later thought of that and thought my comments where silly since all he was drawing was her face.

SO after thinking about that I thought he may think I wanted her to look fat or something. I mean how would you make a chick look built if you are only working with her face?

When I got the drawing I was very happy to see he had not made her a chubby. He just did an awesome drawing of her cute face. He even managed to fit her rack in the picture! I was very a happy about that.

I saw Joe give a red drawing pencil away to a fan. I was so fasinated with those penciles I offred him a gold $1 coin I got out of the parking metter. He was nice enough to give me a blue and red pencil for it! You rock man!

Udon's Joe, and Eric are very talented a focused artist. I was very intimidated by them, but in the end they made the convention so worth it.

After standing all night in a hot room shoulder to shoulder losing tournoments for 2 nights that Sunday was my real last chance to turn the con around. They really pulled through for me.

One guy who's name I missed really anwered a lot of burning questions I had about Udon and the crew.

Sorry no Star Gladiator comic in the works. Not enough fans support. So we wont get to see how Udon would have handled the is space opera grand brawl.
If they are hiring they will not keep it a secret. They will post it on their website or their deviant art page.
Your work has to sell you to them. You have to have a strong portfolio.

I doubt I will ever be able to work on the Capcom design team, but working for Udon is the next best thing.So some day I hope to work for Udon, and make that dream come true.
