(full rework)As mental ray died out in Maya, I shifted to Vray and wanted to see how the years and the transition stacked up to where I was at in 2014, when I first rendered this scene.

Sky photo texture by "night-fate-stock@deviantart.com", though they appear to have deactivated now after all these years.
New shaders, new geometries, new details and composition, but I retained many elements and hopefully this one tells a better "story" too.
