Leader of New Genesis. Father and guardian to all. Enemy to Darkseid. The wise and powerful Highfather makes his way to the DC Unlimited. One of the key players in The Fourth World Mythology, Highfather has fought Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips for so many eons, it has been an endless war that has left both external and personal casualties. Yet he goes on as leader of New Genesis and the New Gods that inhabit this his home. Yet even he knows about the coming storm on the cosmos.

Created by Jack Kirby, as part of the Fourth World Pantheon, Highfather was once a man called Izya. Many years ago before The Pact was formed, he was simply a young man, living his days on the peaceful planet of New Genesis with his wife Avia. They were living happy, as Highfather was looking forward to the days of becoming a ruler. They then had a son, who would later adopt the name Scott. Then everything changed when Apokolips first attacked New Genesis, led by the forces of Darkseid and his uncle Steppenwolf. The two would begin a feud that shook the cosmos. They have fought and brought the worst out of each other, until it came to an end when Steppenwolf took the life of Avia. Thing would've escalated further had it not been for Metron forming The Pact. Izya would and Darkseid would exchange their infant sons, as it was foretold by the Source. Since then Highfather sought to be a better father towards the child known as Orion and would develop a spiritual understanding of The Source, as he became the ruler of New Genesis.

In the DC Unlimited his past is what still haunts him. He knows that it's a matter of time before The New Gods, are at war again with the universe now caught in the crossfire. It is his duty to help warn the allies he has developed, and warn them about the coming storm
