Description The Icarus is not your typical ship. It is neither military, or civilian. Quite infact it is part of a rebellion. This aged ship has seen more action then a front line probe. From crashing into moons, to having entire sections of it blown out. Any sane person would never fly it, but the Icarus Mercenaries are far from sane. Who else would fly a ship that sheds its hull plates, against an entire armada of top of the line ships? The flying junk.

Hey, this is avery nice conept! It fits the description perfectly, and I love the texturing, that is mapped right?

No, it isn't actually. I use Rhino 3D, and used Flamingo to apply the textures. I don't know much about map texturing, would be nice though to find out. Though, the texture is of my own design and the sort.

Oh I see, I've heard about Rhino 3D, but never tried it, Flamingo, I've never knew about it.

You know, I noted ~Serve to thank him from refering you to me and he said that he guessed that you and I could become good friends and someday do a "Collab that will rock"... lol, but it's not a bad idea at all.

Are you currently modeling something, because I would like to see something that shows your present level of skill, as the Icarus impressed me, I would like to see something else .

Rhino 3D is an uberly good program. I love it alot, then again it is the only one I've ever really learned or got good at. All the other modeling programs are way too odd to figure out to me. I guess I'm a Nurbs addict. Flamingo is a rendering plug-in for it, and does a pretty good job at it. Though it doesn't have any special effects, atmospheric effects, muchless can do animation. As a result I'm stuck with sucky stuff.

My newest thing would be the Arrow Fire, Though I've stopped working on that, seeing as I've not really been getting much headway. The most completed thing I've done would be the Mammoth Police Crusier which is here: [link]

These are of the Arrow Fire:

Ohhh I see...

I really like the police cruiser and the arrowfire, great job on both, however, you still have to finish em .

Mind if I suggest something? Render your models with the Skylight-type light... I dunno if you've seen it, but that's the light that makes models look clay-ish... If you're not familiar with it... Here is a link to my H.A.S., untextured (model-version) with this type of lighting render [link]

Check out my scraps as there is another one of the HSV.

I'm not sure if Rhino has this, try and find out if it does because it makes untextured models more pleasing to look.

It might have a similar form, I've not really tried it actually. What program do you use to render your models?

I use 3D Studio Max 7 and its default Scanline renderer, however, I am learning how to use Mental Ray, which is a more powerful renderer.

This is very nice!
The top pick shows the blockiness, I think, a little more than the bottom one, and I especially like the feet in the second picture. Very realistic!
I think it would look better if some of the metal panels on the sides had some reflection. It might make it look less like one flat picture.

I've not really been all that good with doing those sorts of textures, Though it is an interesting idea. I'll try it out on some future design should I ever decide to do an ugly craft again.
