"derp arts" are just simple art pieces I put together when I'm restless at night and the brain bug scratches at my creative nerve.

Isekai has become unbelievably popular in anime, and on occasion those isekai involve mecha. From the “knights and magic” to the new “Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs”, these mecha anime are lacking to my tastes, but i am reminded of an old isekai anime made before the current craze and had grounded mecha, “Vision of Escaflowne”! I grew up on that classic mecha anime. Well I just got inspired to make a little fun side project (nothing i'm gonna dedicate too much time on, just a fun little thing i have to the side), a kinda meta isekai but a focus on grounded mechs like escaflowne. And who knows, maybe i'll get impossibly lucky and some studio desperate for an isekai premise will pick this one…lol, that would be the day.

When the mecha enthusiast, Mckoon’s life is cut short by a semi truck, he finds himself reincarnated into a fantasy world with giant robots. Everything is set for a perfect isekai adventure, right? WRONG! He is stuck with a grunt mech, doomed to die along with the hundreds of other grunts. He is also without any powers and there is no progression system, so he has to train his mind and body naturally. He is lowborn, raised into a monarchic society, with his only real way of getting a better life is to fight and survive.

Mckoon does find that his knowledge of modern war has given him a unique insight into guerilla tactics, earning him a reputation, albeit without honor or chivalry. Although his growing reputation has earned him a following of spurned warrior women looking to marry him for his growing wealth, so at least he gets a harem, right?
