Orktober, I love me my orks, and i wanted to try to do a “artpeice for everyday” type challenge. Each day will have a new ork artpeice with some lore for ideas i’ve had for ork units.
Orktober 27th - MOBILE MEK WORKSHOP
I’ve had ideas for a mecha focused version of the madmax like 40k game of “Gorka Morka”, something I would call “Gorkanaut Morkanaut”. “Gorka Morka” is about growing a band of warbuggies and trukks, while “Gorkanaut Morkanaut” is about growing a mob of deff dreads and killa kans. The ultimate goal is to get enough resources to create gorkanauts or morkanauts, and your home base is the mek shop. Eventually you can upgrade your base into a mobile one that can repair and create dreadnoughts on the move, thus inspiring this art
Since Dread Waaaghs are focused on the aspirations of big meks to have an army of walkers, they would eventually make larger and larger walkers. Starting with the small titans like the stompas, all the way to mega gargants. The Mobile Mek Workshop is meant to help repair the Dread Mob on the move. It can easily reach the higher parts of stompas, and even bring in wrecks of dreadnoughts into its hull for repairs. The Mobile Mek Shop can double as a transport for ork dreadnaughts, from the lowly killa kan to the large mega dreads. To make room for the repair hangar, this four legged titan has small weapons (in comparison to other ork titans), with the largest weapons being killkannons and big zappas, but it is covered in these weapons to make any formation double guess charging the Mobile Mek Shop. This titan can be upgraded with a mega force field with redundant generators, so this titan can protect itself and its dreadnoughts it carries into battle.
