As colonies were developed in the 2060s, and mining operations expanded across the globe, heavy haul trucks became prolific around mineral processing sectors. From rare earth metals used for batteries, to thorium for modern nuclear power, these heavy trucks are the blood cells of the pumping colonial economy.

Caterpillar created one of the most rugged and advanced of these platforms and would be copied by other businesses. This Cat has both a diesel engine as well as small thorium reactors. This creates a redundancy so that these behemoths can keep going if the engine fails or fuel runs out. Of course when hauling a maximum load it requires both systems to be running for peak performance.

Unfortunately these traits have made this mining truck highly desired by rebel and criminal groups. The thorium reactors can be salvaged for putting together cavalry mechs or powering hideouts, but the machine itself is a hardy vehicle that can take a lot of damage and keep going.

Basic HHT
Just a normal mining truck can be quickly commandeered before a rebel action and used as both distraction and carrying cellmechs relatively safely into combat. Unmodified trucks often get their thorium reactors removed.

Landship
This “Technical” is one of the largest ground based combat platforms in the 2060s. Two old 155 mm howitzers are on a turret on the flatbed. These guns are used for providing artillery for rebel groups, or in a pinch can be used as direct fire if the guns are fired with flat arcs out the back of the truck bed. Often these important artillery platforms are camouflaged.

KillDozer
This improvised transport has been given extra thick armor plating and gives this massive vehicle a presence worthy of its namesake. With both engines running this machine can tear through buildings and obstacles while filled with rebel mechs. Embarked mechs can either deploy from the added hydraulic ramp, or just fire from this armored monster. Multiple cameras allow the protected pilot to see their surroundings, and basic twin 12.7 cal HMGs provide some native defense. Often such a beast as the killdozer has to be taken out by tanks or airsupport.
