The Eye of Providence is as much a masonic symbol as the swastica is a national socialist one - ie. not at all.
The Eye of Horus to the ancient egyptians, the Eye of the World to buddhists, a symbol of the holy trinity throughout Europe's history. The american government used the symbol over ten years -before- the Freemasons. Hell, the city of Braslaw in Belarus have had it on it's coat of arms since the 16th century.
Also, birds aren't necesarrily symbols of freedom. The raven, for example, have often been associated with bad news. Different birds have meant different things over time. The only symbolism connected to birds in general dating to ancient times is the idea that birds are the link between heaven and earth - because of their flight, obviously.
From what I can see, the bird there is meant to resemble a falcon - which, incidentally, is the animal with which the egyptian sky-god Horus is connected. The eye in the triangle is a permutation of the wedjat, the eye of Horus. I think you will find that the two symbols go together quite well.
This information took ten minutes of web searching to unearth. Please, folks, get your facts straight - it's so easy these days.
