Description
The Netherlands went to Austria instead of Spain, when they were inherited by Burgundy, this stopped the Dutch Revolt from happening and the Low Countries are still considered German.
In 1815, after the threat of Napoleon was dealt with, the Austrians decided to reform the German Confederation into one state. In the universe the Prussians succumbed to the idea because of Napoleon, which supports the saying, “A house divided falls”. In this new Germany the old forms of government were replaced with states that work like the ones in America, thus ending the Kingdom of Prussia and the Empire of Austria, as well as duchies and bishoprys. Because of this the new Germany gained Alsace and Lorraine from France, after the rest of the European Powers were scared of the new beast.
