Nightshade is a resident of Paragon, a.k.a. "The City of Heroes". She is the daughter of Nightmare, a darkness empowered elemental human. Her twin, Daylight, is often overprotective of her because she is very shy and is afraid of fighting those who wish to harm her. She isn't afraid of losing a fight however, it's actually the opposite of that... her power is to send others into a state of pure fear, making them believe that they have come face to face with that they dread most. Sometimes her power works too well and her victims literally die of fright. Her power of dark illusions is only matched by her healing capabilities from white magic. She normally hides her left eye (that's right, the normal one) with a demon skull that she uses as a mask. Her reason behind this is that the blue eye doesn't match the rest of her evil appearance so it is the flaw. She also has a crush on Nova, the son of the most powerful hero in the city.
