When I drew this picture, I made sure that no parts were left out and I blended in a lot of areas,(especially the first layer) which gives in a smooth texture look.

I use normal tissues and a paper stump to blend in my work.
They are cheap to buy, but make some serious and beautiful results in the end.

It took a lot of time, but I was motivated to finish it since I could see that it was going to turn out successful.
What I used to blend in the graphite are tools called paper stumps, which work exceedingly well or just your average tissue to blend in the lines together for a smooth look.
