Eastern Lubber Grasshopper. They tend to ruin my plants. Some have been almost totally consumed. They're cool looking but very destructive.Related content

Argh grasshoppers. I was out chasing one around the yard today. Β It's been eating my new strawberry plants and the peppermint. Such destructive little suckers.Β

I hope you were able to catch it. Luckily for me these are a little slow. These tend to put out a strong smell so the birds or lizards will not eat them.

Ours are fast & have wings. I'm sure it's quite funny watching me run around in circles swinging a fly swatter all over the place. I remember it being easier to catch them when I was a kid. lol Β -Heather
