thanks so much. There were HUNDREDS of these grasshoppers on an island about a mile from my house.

yeah there were hundreds of them on that little island about a mile from my house by water. I wonder if they are still thriving there? Haven't been to that part of the island in a while.

thanks. If you checked out the full view, its insane detail. These grasshoppers were huge. Look at it on the neck of that little kid -- it's like 5 inches long.

The coloring on them is beautiful. They live on an island about a mile from my house on the San Jacinto River. We took our pontoon boat over there on the 4th of July and discovered them there. Weird critters!

I saw that picture too.. really awesome... and the full view had i set as default here on dA! I think its a must to see the pics in the original size!
You have many pretty shots in your gallery from these insects, bugs, spiders...

Those aren't the original size. The originals are 11 mb.
Frikkin awesome.

Maybe I'll zoom in on the face of one of the grasshoppers on one of the 11 mb files, and post it.
