Last week I was scribbling on a paper after studying and suddenly this appeared. I was really surprised to see how expressive and adorable it looked to be an improvised doodle
Why can I only draw things like this when I don’t even try?In case you didn't know this character, she's Elspeth, the witch from Gawayn. Maybe it isn't the best show, but I must say the style is beautiful and I adore the character designs. Here you can see the intro.
I tried to use a simpler style for this picture, so I thought it would look better without an acatual lineart. What do you think?
By the way, the title of the picture is in French because that's the original version
I don't know why, but Elspeth (Fériel) is the only character whose name was changed in the rest of the versions.

I love Elspeth. Even with gawayn being a really bland series, like you said, the character design was so likeable, and Elspeth was really cute and funny, and I have a great fascination for Big Sisters with Little Brothers

I like this animated serie (even if it's not my time) especialy her and the duke but I think that some (not all) horrible mimic manga would never have been used.
After that, it's still pretty western.

This is such an immensely cute piece that you have composed here, Javi, and so very fitting and complementing to the magical Gawayn world in which Elspeth resides in!
I must say, speaking in terms of the unique style of the show itself, I have to admit that your ingenious idea to construct this beautiful new work of yours without a separate lineart came out absolutely sublimely in congruence to it indeed, pal! ^^ And of course, your own beautifully stylized design touches and the swirling magical area surrounding her cute little wand embrace her sweet character persona that makes her such such a memorable character that we can't help but adore!

Is that beautiful design of her that make me wish she was in a better show. Don't get me wrong , I did enjoy Gawayn but the beautiful art style deserve a bit more than wacky hijinks and the occasional toilet humor. Elspeth (Feriel, how does that name sounds like ?) look like she should be hanging out with Samurai Jack !

Hmmm. I get what you're saying, but at the same time it kinda feels like the whole art style, paired off with the wackiness of the show feels like a kind of subversion. And I kinda like that about it. Like, instead of giving you a prim, proper kind of show like you would like and described, they provide you with a zany cartoon, to kind of subvert expectations. I think it's cool. A kind of... post-modernist look.
