First piece of artwork in a looooong time. Downloaded Paint Tool SAI and decided to give it a whirl. This is what came out -w- bNathaniel from Crossroads .

No, not at all xD I've only read a few chapters of Elemental Gelade tbh. The only commonalities between them are probably their hair colour and the hook and chain.
I did look up Cou for some pose references though ( ^ ^ ) b
Nathaniel's weapon preference is actually based on Tsukasa from Tokyo Crazy Paradise. She has a "bugwhip", which is a knife attached to some chain, but I changed it to a hook because I decided that his dad probably wouldn't have trusted him throwing around a knife when he was 6 >.>

tbh i do research other anime characters time to time to find a good pose and make sure that arms can actually bend a certain way, you know make sure it looks human.
by the way elemental gelade does exist in anime form.
