Love it! You did a great job on him... ironically the wildlife federation is fighting very hard to get people to stop calling them wild dog or "hunting dogs" but rather painted dogs. Great anthro piece I hope the customer was as amazed as I am! ^_^

I think this is one of your best anthro pieces, honestly! Congratulations on the DD it is well deserved!
The markings are beautifully done, as if they truely ARE painted on, like the breed it's based upon. The background, as per, is fantastic, and the lightning and darkclouds seem to imitate the anticipation and excitement that is probably rushing around in the character's heart and mind.
It has a real sense of depth and 3D to it also, especially on the head, it looks so... sculpted even!

My cousin just returned from 6 weeks in Africa assisting and advising some research on the wild painted dog population in South Africa (I believe).
Your image looks remarkably similar to the photos he took of painted dogs. Was that your reference,the painted dog ?

The coloration is just lovely! I like it when anthro creatures look as if they really could be real. If African spotted dogs had evolved to a humanoid form, this is what they would look like.

I love the lightning in the back, I didn't notice it for a long time. Probably because I was focused on that great fur and the puffy white clouds by the blue sky.

Congrats, well done...however I find it pretty funny that the last time (I noticed) an African hunting dog anthro piece got a dd the person who featured it mentioned that it was unusual because you hardly ever see this species used...deja vu.

S'looking very good and i can see you put a lot of work into this, but in my honest opinion the head looks kinda....off. Sort of like it doesn't belong to that body if you know what I mean?
