Description This is Imara
Name Meaning: Solid, substantial
Name Origin: Swahili
Born: 64 BSi
Died: N/A
Allegiances: Wet Lands Pride (birth), Tall Grass Pride (betrothal), Low Valley Pride (choice)
Position: Member, Queen
Mate: Magisheikh , Isibani

Imara is just a simple pridesister. There is nothing especially pretty about her, nor does she have any special talent in hunting or any royal blood. And yet, the Crown Prince of her pride, Prince Magisheikh, loves her as much as she loves him. There are times that Imara can't believe how lucky she is to have a mate like Magisheikh.

The only problem is Magisheikh's mother, Queen Kuonyesha of the Wet Lands Pride. The Queen is a cold, uncaring individual, and if she ever gets wind that her son is fooling around with a simple pridesister, Imara'd be kicked out of the Pride. The two work hard to keep their love a secret from the powerful Queen, but things become slightly more complicated when Kuonyesha brings in a Betrothed for her son.

This Betrothed, a Princess Kutupa of the Shadow Rock Lands, quickly discovers her mate's affair, but instead of running off and complaining to Kuonyesha about it, she confronts the couple directly. To Imara's relief, Kutupa tells them that she is completely okay with their affair, as she doesn't love Magisheikh either, and that all she requests is that Magisheikh have one cub with her in order to provide a legitimate heir. Magisheikh and Imara agree, and Kutupa promises that once Magisheikh inherits the throne from his mother that they will have no more reason to hide their affair. Some months later Kutupa gives birth to a daughter named Naanda. It seems like everything is going to be okay.

But then Imara becomes pregnant. She gives birth to two daughters, and while Dwala looks enough like her mother to pass for a rogue's cub, Diku is far too much like her father to fool anyone. Queen Kuonyesha comes to Imara after the cubs are weaned and informs her that she is be betrothed to some far-away prince and that she will have to go to his pride to marry him. Without her daughters. Imara is distraught and pleads with the Queen to reconsider, but in the presence of the Queen's formidable bodyguards there is nothing she can do. She and Magisheikh exchange one last, tearful goodbye, then Imara is taken away from her home forever.

Her stay in her new Pride, however, is short-lived. It soon becomes apparant that Imara is pregnant again, with Magisheikh's child. Her new mate complains to his parents that his mate is "dirty" and "unworthy" of him, and how her "little brat" will have to go. His parents try to reason with him, but Imara has had enough. She runs away and soon finds herself in the Low Lands. The King is welcoming, so it is in the Low Lands where little Sarabi is born. Imara misses her family, but she does her best to be a good mother to Sarabi and a good part of her new pride.

To her surprise, she ends up falling in love with the King, Isibani. She becomes his Queen, and eventually gives him an heir, Kurap. They send Sarabi off to the Pride Lands to marry the Prince there, Mufasa, and Kurap eventually becomes king of the Low Lands.

------------------------------

So here's Sarabi's mommy, updated. I didn't change her design at all, just updated the image, since the last one looked pretty icky. I'll be posting her mate, Magisheik, for the first time in a minute, then I'll try to update Dwala and Diku, and finally design Naanda.

Also, I changed the place where she was betrothed to be the Tall Grass Pride. For anyone who read my Zira story, they might slightly remember that Khali was the prince of the Tall Lands and his asshole father was the king. That asshole king, as of yet undesigned, was Imara's betrothed.

A bit, yeah. But at least she got a mate and a daughter and happiness later, which is more than can be said for the daughters she left behind.
