Love this capture, so natural, and so cool that they are not looking at the camera, makes it more like a National Geographic type of picture vrs one from the zoo. = )

Anthropomorphism can be an interesting concept to play with but difficult to do well and a lot of people stay clear of it for fear of falling foul of the 'ah, isn't that cute' syndrome.
However, when photographing primates I think the viewer will always try and relate in some way as if the subjects were indeed human so you just have to accept that and get on with it.

The point I'm trying to make in a very rambling manner is that this is a beautiful study of dependence, I'm not even going to assume that it's mother and infant because primates have an extended family existence where this could just as easily be an older sibling doing a bit of babysitting (I told you it's difficult to avoid Anthropomorphism when viewing such images).

Excellent shot

Nice sepia shoot, I like the texture of background, supports the texture of the monkeys hair.
where do they live? is this a zoo? I would like to know more about this trip, seems you have a ot of fun, I mean watching this kind of animals, wow! It's just one of beuatifull things in life.

JaymeeLS In reply to Chapusa [2011-02-08 22:37:20 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
It's not a zoo, zoo. Like behind metal fences in large enclosures. It's almost like a monitored reserve, they can't escape from the grounds, but it's HUGE.

That's the place's website.

JaymeeLS In reply to Chapusa [2011-02-09 11:21:59 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, I don't at all, it's a bit too far away and expensive for me to get to frequently.
They're asking for the best interaction photo I think, and I have none haha! Just of the monkeys boo.

It's just a page that other Deviants can leave their links on to advertise themselves. Another way of getting more watchers/comments/views etc!
